Dr. Shafi Ahmed is a world renowned, multi award winning surgeon, teacher, futurist, innovator and entrepreneur. He is a 3x TEDx and international keynote speaker, has delivered over 300 keynotes in 40 countries. With teaching roles at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Imperial College London, and Singularity University, his areas of expertise include medicine, digital health, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Ahmed has served as Vodafone’s Connected Health Ambassador and advised organizations like Merck, PwC, FDA, and Google, as well as the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health. He holds visiting professorships at several universities, including Bradford and Amsterdam, and has received honorary doctorates from various institutions.

As co-founder of the GIANT health summit in London and chair of the Webit Health summit in Bulgaria, Dr. Ahmed has built a network of over 200,000 digital health innovators. He was named a HIMSS Future50 clinical leader in 2020 and has received accolades such as the Future NHS Award and British Bangladeshi of the Year 2017.

Currently, he serves as CEO and co-founder of Medical Realities, a pioneering XR education company, and serves as the world’s first chief medical metaverse officer at AIMEDIS. Dr. Ahmed’s humanitarian work in global surgical education earned him a Nobel Peace Prize nomination in 2020.
